Most of the work we do is knowledge work. What does that really mean? Are there characteristics to knowledge work that we should consciously address when we seek to do this type of work faster, more cheaply, or better? Though I've spent more than 25 yrs working to improve knowledge work, I still consider myself a student. In this blog, I hope we can learn from each other. I can get us started-where we go from there is up to all of you. Thanks for taking the time to read and participate.

ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement; I'm Presenting!

I'll be presenting at the upcoming ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement.

Here is how ASQ describes the planned World Conference.

The 63rd World Conference on Quality and Improvement—May 18–20, 2009, in Minneapolis, MN—will have a variety of quality topics and tools to take advantage of this year. ASQ has it all, including information on quality basics, customer service, driving quality through the organization, improved performance, and 21st century needs, competencies, and issues. Visit http://wcqi.asq.org for more information.

My session is T07. Improving Knowledge Work: Lessons Learned

Though this title may be familiar to some of you, I continuously update the content to reflect my latest thinking, lessons, and experience.

I hope you can make it to Minneapolis- and to my session.
